As worker cooperatives grow and evolve, so do the people within them. Whether someone is stepping away to pursue new opportunities, retiring, or making space for new leadership, it’s important to navigate process of a worker-owner exiting a cooperative with transparency and care. And to plan ahead!
We’re excited to share the Worker Exit Guide to help co-ops in RI navigate this process, created by students at the Roger Williams University School of Law Business Clinic. This resource walks through the key considerations for a worker-owner exit, from governance and financial logistics to cultural impacts. It also includes a few template forms that cooperatives can adapt for themselves.
